Sturdy, large, my favorite notebook for school
By julia set-up disconnect
I used two of these notebooks (and no others) for my first 2.25 years of college. The cardboard backing didn’t come off; the plastic fronts weren’t damaged. The pages don’t accidentally start to tear out like they do for some notebooks. I didn’t really use the clear plastic tab sheets separating the five “subjects”; these don’t have pockets, but at least there’s a pocket at the back. Tall top margins make the paper a little larger than regular notebook sheets if you tear the pages out, and the binder holes are very close to the perforations on the left side, so I preferred to copy work onto loose leaf rather than tearing sheets out. Still, I’m buying another one of these because I know it’ll last more than a semester and look nice doing so.

Well, there goes my childhood dream…
As a kid, I used to dream about owning and having a FiveStar notebook like my older sister. Obviously, the quality has gone way down. The paper? It’s not a crisp white color anymore and I have such difficulty tearing pages it goes beyond ridiculous. I brought bunch in bulk and now it just a waste of money. Disappointed how much the quality has gone down. If you’re never going to tear any pages out, go for it; then it’s a good notebook, but you can do better for the price. I will recommend just getting the FlexBinder or NoteBinder than just getting this notebook.

Perfect college notebooks
I love the Five Star 3 and 5 subject notebooks. I never buy anything else, ever. Online the prices are a little high, but still exactly what I wanted. There are a lot of different colors to choose from, but the prices are dependent on the color you pick. I chose hot pink and payed a little extra, and was kind of disappointed that it’s not really HOT HOT pink, it’s a darker pink than the picture shows. Overall, the color doesn’t really matter to me, I just love these notebooks.
